This subreddit is for content that builds anticipation ('yesyesyes') before a sudden failure ('no'). Posts should not be low-quality, reposts, video compilations, images of text (except comics), images of upvotes/downvotes, or unexpected gender reveals. Gameplay is allowed if exceptionally 'yesyesyesyesno'.

Before you post: Self-promotion or "I built X" posts are not explicitly mentioned but the subreddit's focus on specific content types and strict rules against compilations, images of text, etc., indicates it is not a place for product launches or self-promotion. Such posts would likely be removed under general content guidelines.

The rules, in their words

1. #1. Lacks YESYESYESYES moment at the beginning: This post lacks the buildup of something going well. Something going towards great is how we define YYYY. The buildup can be short, but must exist. An instance of didn't go wrong doesn't count. Any mundane events that always happen also do not count as YYYY. The concept of YYYY can be applied from the viewer's perspective or the subject that's performing the act. For example, a car crash while driving lacks YYYY.
2. #2. Lacks NO moment at the End: This post lacks a NO moment. Nothing goes wrong at the end. The concept of NO can be applied from the viewer's perspective or the subject that's performing the act. Also, something unexpected is not necessarily a NO.
3. #3. Poor/Dead URL: The site linked is of poor quality. It is riddled with bad ads or redirects. Or the link is now dead. URL shorteners are also not allowed.
4. #4. Recent repost - Submit URL via modmail, or your report will be ignored: This content has already been posted in this sub within the last month (30 days). To keep the content fresh, reposts that are made in relatively quick succession are to be removed. Crosspost is not a repost, just because you saw it in another sub doesn't mean it's a repost. It is a repost if it was already submitted to this sub. A post can be a crosspost and a repost. When reporting, please submit the original URL as proof by modmail or by selecting "Other". Otherwise, it may be ignored.
5. #5. No video compilation: No video compilations allowed.
6. #6 No images of text: Image(s) of text is not allowed. Try /r/jokes, /r/me_irl or /r/Unextexted instead. This rule has been added by community votes in significant majority disapproving of images of text. This includes all types of images like screenshots, photos and videos where text (words) are the primary point of the image. Exception: Comics
7. #7 No Images of Upvotes and Downvotes: Image(s) of series of upvotes then a single (or more) downvote is not allowed. It's just not interesting. Stop posting them here. This rule has been added by community votes in significant majority disapproving of images of upvotes and downvotes.
8. #8 Considered as Normal Gameplay, not YYYYN.: Game footage is allowed, but must be exceptionally or uniquely YYYYN as every game ever played that involves dying or failing is YYYYN otherwise.
9. #9 Unexpected Gender Content is not YYYYN: Content that displays unexpected gender reveal is not considered as YYYYN.
