The rules, in their words

1. Questions about vinyl and equipment should be asked in the weekly questions thread.: Questions about vinyl, setups, equipment advice, or personal inquiries that primarily benefit the individual over the broader subreddit community should be submitted in the stickied Weekly Questions thread, also accessible from the Submit a New Question button above. Be sure to use the search bar to browse for your answer - you just may find what you're looking for!
2. Image and video posts require a 300 plus character review or description added as a comment.: Photo and image posts as well as gifs and short videos must also include a **300+ character comment** as a description, story, or review of their content. Posts without adequate description will be removed automatically. A list of album titles is **not** an adequate description. If your post is removed you can still add a **300+ character comment** with the description and it will be approved automatically.
3. No meme image posts: No meme image posts. Feel free to post them in the comments.
4. Buying, selling or trading: Posts specifically intending to buy, sell, or trade vinyl or stereo equipment privately between collectors are not permitted. Please visit /r/vinylcollectors in order to sell, trade, and seek albums. For new releases please post to r/vinylreleases.
5. Be nice, be helpful. Don't be rude, don't be a jerk.
6. Seller/Site/Retailer Verification Questions: The vinyl sub is not an authoritative source of information to say if a retailer, site or seller is legitimate. Please limit these questions to the weekly question thread or search for a previous post as these questions have frequently been posted in the past.
7. Harassment policy: Harassment against other users of any kind is not acceptable and will not be tolerated. If you find yourself in a conversation that is moving toward personal differences and confrontation, please have the mindfulness to remove yourself from the situation. Please report harassment as such so that we can investigate. Racism, homophobia and threats of violence or death will result in a permanent ban.
8. Gatekeeping: No need to argue over the use of the term vinyl. English isn't everyone's first language and the sub is literally named "vinyl". Likewise, the debate over inexpensive entry level players has been beat to death. If we want records to remain a format, we need people to take up the hobby. That requires a low cost of entry for some. The sub rule is not limited to these example topics.
9. Spam policy: We have a spam filter in place that flags posts from users with a very low comment karma score for manual review. If you have more than 5 comment karma you should be safe. This doesn't mean you need to have more than 5 comment karma in order to be allowed on /r/vinyl, but some posts and comments may need manual review. Please message the moderators if you think your post or comment was incorrectly flagged as spam.
10. No download codes: Do not make a post to share download codes. These belong in /r/downloadcodes!
