Sharing personal projects or products is not explicitly covered, but Rule 10 suggests focusing on engagement rather than direct self-promotion. Any links to social media should be shared privately upon request, not openly in posts.

Before you post: Do not shamelessly promote social media; engage with the community first. If posts are relevant and engaging, others may ask for links privately.

The rules, in their words

1. No politics. Zero exceptions.: This sub is not your political soapbox on which you should stand. Go solve the world’s problems in a political sub. Religion-pushing and racist comments are also not allowed.
2. No Fundraising: We do not allow fundraising. This means things like GoFundMe, KickStarters, begging, poor mouthing to solicit donations, and those types of posts or comments.
3. No "For Sale" posts.: To help keep content relevant to "Tips and Tricks for living in your vehicle" we suggest that you post all For Sale items (and Freebies) to r/VanDwellerMarketplace.
4. No Mechanical or Purchase Advice: Requests for Mechanical Advice, or "should I buy this" posts will be referred to r/MechanicAdvice, r/CarTalk, r/UsedCars, r/AskAMechanic, r/AskCarSales. You should also pursue the make and model of your vehicle - they’ll have their own sub.
5. Please Read the FAQ section.: Please Read the [FAQ section](/r/vandwellers/wiki/). It answers many questions, and includes links to further your research on several topics.
6. No meme, re-posts, cross-posts, surveys, spotted-in-the-wild posts.: No reposts, cross posting from other forums, memes, research surveys,spotted-in-the-wild, and generally not contributing to the forum. These items fit better in r/ITookAPicture, r/Memes, r/WhatsThatVehicle, r/TooCool, etc.
7. Don't be a jerk, be respectful of others.: Keep your posts and comments kind. While everyone enjoys a lively discussion - there is no need for name-calling, or ridiculing the other participants in the conversation. Hate speech, as defined by Reddit, includes “ACAB”, gender slurs, political name calling, etc.
8. Use the search.: Please do a search before making posts. Search for basic words , such as: "park" or "parking"; "toilet" or "poop"; "shower"; "pet" or "dog" or "cat"; and partial phrases like "air condition". These will turn up multiple threads previously discussed.
9. Newbie questions: If you have common or beginner questions please ask them in the weekly Q & A topic, it's titled "Weekly Questions & Answers Discussion". Also, refer to the [FAQ](r/vandwellers/wiki) for a condensed intro to r/VanDwellers.
10. No shameless pimping of your social media.: Stop marketing and start engaging. We are a conversational group, often with lower bandwidth. If you engage the group, they will likely ask you for your videos, if they are relevant to a particular topic. **Reply to requests for links via Private Message.** (Hidden links to your social media on posted photos, will cause your post to be removed.) No drive-by target marketing funnel here... engage or be gone.
