Can you post your project here?
Self-promotion, advertisements, and crowdfunding are not allowed as the subreddit is a community, not a promotional platform. All posts must be related to the Netherlands and have descriptive, objective titles. Mandatory link flair must be assigned to posts.
Before you post: Rule 2 explicitly states 'self-promotion, advertisements, or any kind of spam' are not allowed.
The rules, in their words
- Adhere to Reddit content policy and reddiquette: * [Reddit content policy](http://www.reddit.com/help/contentpolicy) * [Reddiquette](https://www.reddithelp.com/en/categories/reddit-101/reddit-basics/reddiquette) (also [available in Dutch](https://www.reddit.com/wiki/nl/reddiquette)) We're stricter than many other subreddits when it comes to some of these rules. We don't allow personal attacks, internet piracy, trolling and noncontributing comments like 'This!'.
- No surveys, petitions or spam: We're a community, not a free platform to promote your cause. Therefore we don't allow surveys/questionnaires, petitions, crowdfunding pages, self-promotion, advertisements, or any kind of spam. Spam in comments is also not allowed, including when it is edited in later.
- No low-effort posts or low-effort questions: * Memes, image macros, screenshots, opinion polls and other low-effort content related to the Netherlands may be submitted to /r/ik_ihe, /r/cirkeltrek, or [other Dutch subreddits](/r/theNetherlands/wiki/related). * No questions which can be answered using our FAQ, the sidebar or a search engine. * Questions that are not specific to one person's situation are preferable. * Questions which are better suited for related institutions or subreddits will be removed.
- Posts must be related to the Netherlands: Submissions to /r/theNetherlands should be associated with the Netherlands, the Dutch people or the associated culture, and be of interest to the Dutch or people with an interest in the Netherlands. The reporting (or absence thereof) in Dutch media does not make the subject relevant to /r/theNetherlands. AMAs are allowed, but before starting one, please [read this how-to guide](/r/theNetherlands/wiki/ama).
- Titles and posts must be descriptive and objective: Please reserve your own opinion for the comments. Rants, biased starts of a discussion or any other post where the poster's opinion is immediately clear will be removed. Link posts may use the original title even if it's not entirely descriptive and objective. Adding clarifications is allowed, as long as the additions or other changes are opinion-free. Spoilers for recent tv shows or films are not allowed in titles. Spoilers for sports events, however, are allowed in the title.
- Do not post duplicates of previous posts: Please take a look at the hot and new posts and do a search to check if something similar to your submission has been posted in the last six months already. If you post anyway, many subscribers will already be aware of the post and will downvote it, and your post will not generate anything like the same level of discussion as the initial submission did. News related articles about the same subject without a significant new development are also considered duplicates.
- Assign your post the proper link flair; no [tags]: The subreddit has mandatory link flair categories which allow subscribers to filter submissions, based on what they think is interesting and what is not. Selecting the appropriate flair for your submission saves the moderators a lot of work and helps subscribers with an interest in the content of your submission to find it. Flairs may be assigned automatically. Please do not use [tags] in your post title.
- Adhere to the language guidelines: * Submissions can be in either English or Dutch. But don't use machine translations. * Comments should preferably be in English if the submission is in English. Not all subscribers to /r/theNetherlands will fully understand the Dutch language, and reading submissions with English titles only to find Dutch comments may be disheartening to these subscribers. * Posts should have a title in the language of the linked content.
