Don't launch hereSelf-promotion or “I made X” posts get removed or banned.

Can you post your project here?

Self-promotion or 'I built X' posts are broadly banned. Rule 12 explicitly states that posts about sales will be removed, and Rule 4 disallows low-effort or generalized questions that belong in a discussion thread. While there isn't a specific rule for 'I built X' projects, they likely fall under 'low-effort' or 'unsolicited promotion material.'

Before you post: Posts about sales are explicitly banned (Rule 12). Generalized questions or low-effort posts are also disallowed and should be in the Daily Discussion thread (Rule 4). Any post that could be construed as unsolicited promotion is likely to be removed.

The rules, in their words

  1. Duplicate Posting: Duplicate posts will be removed if a post is too similar to a previous post. Please check if a post similar to yours has made its way to the front page before yours before posting. Moderators will keep the most engaged post in circulation. Posting a news article does not count as new content when a post already exists on r/tennis.
  2. Be Respectful: Keep all discussions civil. Name-calling, insulting, baiting and attacking other users will not be tolerated. Do not go into discussions with the intent of starting a verbal fight. Offending comments will be removed and users may be banned. We have a zero tolerance policy on sexism, racism, homophobia, and transphobia. Follow [Reddiquette](http://www.reddit.com/wiki/reddiquette) when voting and posting.
  3. Sexism / Sexual Content: All sexual content (i.e. sexual comments on players’ bodies) will be removed. Offending comments will be removed and users could be banned. This applies to explicitly sexual content only. Comments on a player’s aesthetic appearance and/or their workout routines are acceptable.
  4. Low-Effort / Relevant Discourse: Low-effort posts typically consist of plain text / questions that can be answered via Google. If your post is a generalized question / comment / poll that can be concluded with few responses, it will be removed and encouraged to post in the Daily Discussion thread. If your post is tagged as 'Discussion' and is formatted appropriately to encourage wider organised discourse on a topic that has not already been recently visited, this will be allowed. AI generated posts are also not allowed.
  5. Misinformation: All news posts will need to have a valid, trusted source attached to verify the content. Screenshots (ex. pictures of Twitter posts) need to have a news article linked in the comments to be verified. If the original poster is not visible, the post may be removed. Twitter posts from Luigi Gatto are banned and will be removed due to his constant use of misinformation. Vaccine and Covid-19 misinformation warrants a ban.
  6. Bad / Editorialized Post Titles: Post titles should be indicative of your post’s content. In the case of news articles, the title should match the original as closely as possible. Posts with vague, badly formatted or clickbait titles will be removed.
  7. Posting in English: All posts should be primarily in the English language. A post with a player’s press conference in their native language is acceptable and translations are encouraged.
  8. Big 3 / GOAT Discussions: Users are free to discuss this topic in the permanent thread, the link of which can be found in the sidebar. Submissions to the subreddit, which include (but aren't limited to) comparison stats, trophy collections and new general discussion threads around the topic, will be removed. Original content created which explores fresh discussion based upon new or updated information can be accepted.
  9. Meme Rules: You are free to submit meme content, however, it must not fall foul of one of the other rules. In the aftermath of a major event, all memes may be removed temporarily for a period of time to keep the subreddit clean.
  10. Politics: If your post or comment concerns matters which aren't tennis related and speak to a current or past political issue, this may be removed. There are numerous subreddits to discuss off-court politics.
  11. Racism: Any form of racism directed at another user or person, will result in an immediate and permanent ban.
  12. Unsolicited Promotion Material: Because this is a public website intended for discussion, we cannot ensure that any posts about sales are real and safe. As a result, such posts will be removed. Bots who provide "links" to online shopping are permabanned.
  13. Russian / Belarusian Flag Suspension: Whilst the WTA and ATP continue to uphold the ban on Russian and Belarusian Flags, the subreddit will do the same. Any posts of match threads etc. which contain representation of either flag in emoji form or otherwise, will be removed. 14. "Meta" Posts: Reposting comments from r/tennis does not count as new, respectful, or relevant content. Posts with screenshotted comments will be removed regardless of content.
