Self-promotion, spam, and ads are banned and will result in removal and potential ban. Posts must include context and effort, and should not be about specific forbidden topics like Robinhood, crypto (unless directly related to a stock ticker), or penny stocks.

1. Disclose related positions: Disclose any related open positions when discussing a particular stock or financial instrument.

4. No Robinhood posts: The Robinhood app should be discussed in /r/Robinhood. Posts regarding this topic will be automatically removed. Feel free to suggest Robinhood as a broker in comments, but do not share referral links in any way.
5. No trolling, insulting, or harassing: Trolling, insults, or harassment, especially in posts requesting advice, will be removed. Meme here [instead.](https://www.reddit.com/r/wallstreetbets)
6. No cryptocoin discussions unrelated to stocks: Bitcoins & crypto should be discussed on r/CryptoCurrency. Posts regarding this topic will be automatically removed, [more info here.](https://www.reddit.com/r/stocks/wiki/crypto-general) Exceptions are discussing Coinbase IPO, Square Inc, Overstock, and various other tickers. Basically it has to be related to the stock because this is r/stocks. "I bought bitcoins at coinbase" doesn't count, but "Coinbase sells X amount of bitcoins which is X amount of profit for the company" does.
7. No penny stock or OTC discussions: No penny stock discussions, including OTC, microcaps, pump & dumps, low vol pumps and SPACs. Consider posting to r/SPACs, r/pennystocks, or r/weedstocks instead. [Read here for more info.](https://www.reddit.com/r/stocks/wiki/pennystocks)
8. Stay on topic: Almost any post related to stocks and investment is welcome on /r/stocks, including pre IPO news, futures & forex related to stocks, and geopolitical or corporate events indicating risks; outside this is offtopic and can be removed.
