The rules, in their words

1. Be compassionate: This subreddit is a space rooted in supporting and being compassionate to other community members. Do not personally attack other users, cause or perpetuate arguments, or otherwise cause discord here. Shaming other user's lifestyles is also not permitted. Be conscious that every person here has a different personal interpretation of how to live simply. Just because someone else's interpretation differs from your own does not entitle you to criticize them.
2. Stay on topic: All submissions must be relevant to /r/simpleliving. We understand that the scope of the subreddit is more difficult to define than the average community, but if your post is removed for this reason, please keep in mind that it would probably not be well-received by the community.
3. Make a minimum effort: Articles that contain nothing but a list are not allowed. Low-effort images will be removed. This includes but is not limited to: quotes, pictures of books/book pages, comic strips, and screenshots. All other photo links require a submission statement discussing how they relate to /r/simpleliving. If you do not provide this context, your post may be removed until you add it.
4. No surveys or interview requests: Surveys, interview requests, calls for content contributors, and other solicitations are prohibited.
5. No self-promotion or spam: If it appears that your participation in the community consists solely of promoting blogs, websites, social media accounts, etc, your submissions may be removed. Links to online storefronts are prohibited, as well as referral links to Amazon and other retailers. Crowdfunding links are prohibited.
