Don't launch hereSelf-promotion or “I made X” posts get removed or banned.
Can you post your project here?
Promoting your own music or projects is banned as it falls under astroturfing and spamming. Posts must be relevant to R&B/Soul music, avoid reposting within 30 days, and include a direct link to the music or article.
Before you post: Posts promoting a song, album, or artist under the guise of a casual listener (astroturfing) and excessive posts about one subject (spamming) are prohibited and will be removed.
The rules, in their words
- Title formatting: Artist - Song: Streaming music should be titled "Artist - Song" Mariah Carey - We Belong Together * Please try to select the appropriate flair for your submission * Avoid sensationalized or misleading titles and "clickbait." * Browse/search for similar submissions before posting
- No Hate Speech : This sub has a zero tolerance policy for hate speech. No misogynistic, homophobic, racist, etc. comments and/or posts. It will be removed immediately and habitual line-steppers will be banned.
- Posts must be relevant to the R&B/Soul music scene.: Please ensure posts are on-topic. Content unrelated to the R&B/Soul music scene, industry, artists, and related news will be removed.
- Avoid reposted songs for 30 days: If a post has been made within the past 30 days, you can't post it again. This includes playlists that are periodically updated, so even if some of the songs are different you have to wait a month in between posting the playlist again. When sharing music, variety is key. Different people enjoy different styles of music. If you're submitting multiple submissions, try submitting songs from different artists/eras for everyone to enjoy!
- Link to the music or article you're sharing!: Avoid taking screenshots of your music player. Find the song on YouTube and share it! For articles, try to use reputable sources and provide a link to full articles that you're discussing.
- No astroturfing: Astroturfing, the deceptive practice of presenting an orchestrated marketing or public relations campaign as unsolicited comments from members of the public, is not allowed. This includes, but is not limited to, promoting a song, album, or artist under the guise of a casual listener. These posts will be removed, and respective accounts actioned/banned and referred to site administrators for further action.
- No Harassment : This sub has a zero tolerance policy for harassment. No personal insults, passing judgment, and/or name-calling. Respect one another's opinions and engage in healthy debate without demeaning, bullying, and harassing. Habitual line-steppers will be banned.
- No Spamming and/or Stanning : This sub has a zero tolerance policy for Spamming and/or Stanning. We all have artists who we really enjoy listening to and love sharing with the community. However, this sub will not be bombarded with egregious amounts of posts pertaining to any one particular subject/artist in ridiculously short time spans. A ban isn't necessary but posts can and will be removed if mods see fit.
- No low-effort, hastily-written or AI content: Discussions on r/rnb should promote meaningful and substantive discussions about the R&B scene. Hastily-written, low-effort, or low-quality discussion posts will be removed at moderator discretion. Please avoid "what's your favorite _____???" and similar posts, or other submissions that merely ask for the names of songs/artists/albums. Text submissions should be conducive to discussion.
- CiCi's Rule - Don't be weird or gross: *"We know, Ciara's a beautiful woman... but have you seen her sing and dance???"* We're blessed to have so many beautiful performers on the scene, but let's try to be respectful when commenting on appearances/looks. Avoid anything nasty, lewd, weird, or inappropriate.
