Self-promotion or 'I built X' posts are not explicitly mentioned in the rules. The subreddit appears to be focused on sharing humorous or unusual Facebook posts from older individuals, with strict guidelines on privacy and content relevance. Any form of self-promotion would likely fall outside the scope of acceptable content.

Before you post: No self-promotion or 'I built X' posts are allowed as the subreddit is strictly for sharing specific types of Facebook content. Such posts would be removed.

The rules, in their words

1. Showing personal info (Rule 1): Respect the privacy of the people featured here. Never link directly to Facebook. Post a screenshot instead. Be sure to block out the following personal information on every post: (a) Profile Pictures (b) Last names (c) Cities/Towns and other specific location info (d) Identifying features in photos posted to personal pages (Photos posted on public pages are okay.) Posts containing personal information will be removed. Repeated or severe violations may be grounds for a ban.
2. Personal Attacks / Violence (Rule 2): This means no personal attacks, threatening, or other derogatory/hate speech. Personal attacks will result in a warning, which will then result in a ban.
3. Calling out Fakes - /r/thathappened (Rule 3): Comments attempting to point out that the post is fake or linking to /r/thathappened will be removed. This is a place to share funny social media posts, even if it does seem fake just try to see the humor in it. At the same time, please try to avoid posting things that are obviously fake. Feel free to put them in /r/oldpeoplecirclejerk.
4. Doesn't belong in Old People Facebook (Rule 4): Submissions must show that the subject doesn't fully understand proper use of social media. It does not include posts that are strictly political or bigoted. Posts that do not meet this criteria will be removed. Try /r/boomersbeingfools AI content posted by bot accounts, karma farms, etc. is stupid and hilarious, but does not belong on this subreddit. Goofy reactions to AI images by old people is allowed
5. Mainly political/religious (Rule 5): Posts should show that the subject does not understand how to use social media. Posts that are just making fun of 'old people opinions' will be removed. Instead, consider posting in: /r/insanepeoplefacebook /r/boomersbeingfools order corn
6. Rule 6: Context: Posts must include the context around the subject; i.e. the Facebook page it was posted on, not completely cropped Images that could have been generated without being posted to Facebook, etc., will be removed Please re-post with the additional context (reactions, visible PFP, etc.). Remember to scrub identifying information such as name and location
