Posts must be about Nintendo news from the original source or discussions about Nintendo products. Fan content or content created primarily to entertain is more appropriate for other subreddits. Promotion of commercial services, affiliate links, or external contests are generally not allowed.

1. Be the very best, like no one ever was. Treat everyone with respect and engage in good faith.: Do not insult others. Do not make personal attacks. Do not use hate speech, discriminatory language or slurs that degrade a person or group of people. Please be careful with story spoilers. 2. All posts must be Nintendo news from the original source or discussion about Nintendo products.: We welcome content about Nintendo’s history, games, systems, other products and their relations with other companies. News should be from the original source. Secondary sources are okay if they either add substantial information or english translation. Rumors must provide evidence and come from a credible source. 3. Discussion posts should present open-ended questions/prompts, and/or context to inform.: Questions that do not promote open-ended discussion, such as "yes/no" questions, “Does anybody else…?/Am I the only one who…?” questions, or polls, are not fit for /r/Nintendo. Tech support, game help, game/system recommendations, and other help/support questions should be posted in our sister subreddit, /r/NintendoHelp. 4. Posts should have clear, descriptive titles that properly convey what the content is.: Posts should have titles that properly convey what the post is about, as well as being logical without any context. 5. Don't be shady: No buying, selling, trading, begging, affiliate links, piracy, or illegal content.: Attempting to buy, sell, or trade any items is not allowed on r/Nintendo. Instead, consider using r/gameswap, r/gamesale, r/amiiboswap, or another similar community. Begging for free stuff, digital codes or the like, will not be tolerated even if you are joking. 6. All giveaways and contests must either be held by Nintendo or approved in advance by the moderators.: External contests, except for one's run by Nintendo, game developers, or game publishers, are not allowed on /r/nintendo. Contests can be held directly on the subreddit itself, but users shouldn't have to do anything offsite (including liking a Facebook page or retweeting a message) unless they win.
