Don't launch hereSelf-promotion or “I made X” posts get removed or banned.
Can you post your project here?
Posts that are blog/vlog/product spam, crowdfunding, or begging are not allowed. Submissions violating Reddit's self-promotion guidelines will be removed. Travel blogs/vlogs are generally not permitted as they usually violate these guidelines.
Before you post: Blog/vlog/product spam, crowdfunding, and begging posts are explicitly banned. Posts violating self-promotion guidelines are removed.
The rules, in their words
- No racism/hatemongering/harassment: Seriously we shouldn't have to explain this. It's okay to discuss controversial topics *civilly* but don't cross the line. * Discrimination due to gender, race, national origin, religion, etc. will not be tolerated and is a bannable offense. * No doxxing, period.
- No tourist posts allowed: /r/japantraveltips and /r/japantravel are the default subs, as appropriate to their rules, for posts related to your vacation. Do not post about your tourist experience here, it will be removed and you may get an extended vacation.
- No blog/vlog/product spam/crowdfunding/begging/shopping assistance posts: * Submissions violating the spirit of Reddit's [self promotion guidelines](https://www.reddit.com/wiki/selfpromotion) will be removed. As a general rule, we usually do not allow travel blogs/vlogs as they are almost always posted in violation of these guidelines. * No promoting your crowdfunding project or asking people to help you purchase something from Japan.
- Post in the correct subreddits for traveling to, moving to and living in Japan: In order to reduce flamewars/circlejerks and cut down on repeat threads, we ask that you post to other subs in the following cases: * Travel-related questions in /r/japantravel * Travel photos/albums/galleries to /r/japanpics * Translation requests in /r/translator * Vlogs anywhere but here * Language questions in /r/learnjapanese * Candy/snack requests in /r/snackexchange * Job threads over at /r/japanlife * Tax/finance/investing Qs at /r/japanfinance
- Submission titles should be relevant & informative: * All submission titles must include English (even if the article is in Japanese) * No ALL-CAPS or forced memespeak * Vague titles ("need some help...") will probably be removed * Clickbait titles will absolutely be removed
- Don't be a troll: Posts made in bad faith, including obvious trolls (or questions indistinguishable from such) and low-effort questions that could be easily Googled. The same rule applies to comments, and persistent and deliberate trolls are not welcome.
