Flexibility

👥 2.3M members📅 best day: Sunday
Post with careYou can post, but there are rules to clear first.

Can you post your project here?

General self-promotion is banned unless it's in the weekly 'Show Off Sunday' thread. If you share a photo or video showing off a flexibility achievement, you must include a summary of your training routine.

Before you post: Self-promotion is generally banned, but you can share progress or 'show off' posts in the 'Show Off Sunday' thread. If posting a photo/video there, include a brief summary of your training routine.

The rules, in their words

  1. Research before posting: Questions that have been answered before will be removed. [Search the sub](https://www.reddit.com/search?q=subreddit:flexibility), check the [FAQ](http://www.reddit.com/r/flexibility/wiki/faq), and have a look at [the "Don't know where to start?" post](http://www.reddit.com/r/flexibility/comments/2j8sup/dont_know_where_to_start_click_here/) if you don't know where to start. The [Challenges Page](https://www.reddit.com/r/flexibility/wiki/pastchallenges) also has a good compilation of resources!
  2. Be nice: If you have nothing nice or constructive to say, just don't say anything.
  3. No medical advice: Questioning about pain/discomfort *during* a stretch to help adjust your form is great (and if you include a picture of your form, you're likely to get better responses!). Posts asking about **persisting pain, pain not associated with a stretch** (ex. chronic low back pain), **rehab-ing injuries** and **diagnosing or "fixing" anatomical issues"** (ex. pelvic tilt, uneven shoulders, knock knees) will be removed. Those are topics for a medical professional who can assess your situation in detail
  4. Keep it classy: Posts in underwear or posts that are clearly crotch/butt shots will be removed. Please mark things as NSFW if you think your photo/video may get someone in trouble if they're browsing at work. Sexual comments are not tolerated, and you will be banned.
  5. No advertising, spam and blunt self promoting: As a general rule, if you only rarely participate in /r/flexibility discussions, linking posts to your own videos and/or site will be considered spam and they will be removed. If this continues to happen you will be banned. If you would like to share a cool thing you can do, we encourage you to share it in the Show Off Sunday post: https://www.reddit.com/r/flexibility/search/?q=show+off+sunday&sort=new
  6. Videos/photos must meet content guidelines: Any progress or "show off" photos/videos shared in the main thread MUST include a brief summary of your training routine (people want to know how you got there!) - a couple of sentences or bullet points is great! No social media watermarks are allowed. If you'd like to share more frequently or post without sharing your training routine, you can always post in the Show Off Sunday thread: https://www.reddit.com/r/flexibility/search/?q=show+off+sunday&sort=new
  7. Keep discussion within the scope of the sub: We discuss flexibility as a training discipline which aims to increase range of motion in your body. We do not discuss: * diagnosing and rehabilitating anatomical or postural issues (ex. excessive pelvic tilt, hyperlordosis, scoliosis, knock knees, uneven shoulder height, etc). * stretching as a medical tool to rehabilitate injuries or deal with chronic pain Those are all things that can have *many* potential causes and should be evaluated by a medical professional.
