Can you post your project here?

Self-promotion or sharing a side project is not explicitly mentioned in the rules. The subreddit focuses on sharing 'cursed images' that are disturbing or unsettling, not on user-created products or personal projects. Any post not fitting the 'cursed image' criteria would likely be removed.

Before you post: Sharing of personal projects or side projects unrelated to the subreddit's focus on 'cursed images' is not supported and would be removed under rules about content relevance.

The rules, in their words

1. No Memes and Humorous Images, or Pop Culture References: If your image contains a well known meme, or is supposed to be funny, it isn't cursed. Refrain from obvious pop culture references, characters, or screenshots from well-known movies, TV, video games, or celebrities. But, humor is subjective, and exceptions may be allowed at the reviewing moderator's discretion.
2. No Low-Effort / Mundane Content: Although we always appreciate original content, please avoid posting low-effort images, such as mundane pictures of you and your friends in odd poses in the dark, Halloween costumes and weird outfits, pictures of slightly weird objects, or pictures of literal trash.
3. No Weird or Gross Food: Anyone can make unusual or unappealing food, and it goes hand-in-hand with the above rule. Although food-focused images can be cursed, simple odd food combinations or "baked beans where they shouldn't be" type images, won't fit the bill.
4. No AI Generated Content: If you type a prompt into an image generator and upload it directly, that's just lazy. If you use AI generation as ***A PORTION OF*** a composite image (like an AI generated background), it has to be convincingly realistic.
5. No Social Media Screenshots or Text-Focused Images: We're looking for photographs or photo-realistic artistic content here.
6. No Non-photorealistic artistic content: We're sure your artwork is really awesome, but we're looking for real-life imagery here.
7. No Clearly Altered "Photoshopped" Images: Avoid obviously photoshopped, digitally manipulated, or 'deep fried' images. However, _convincing, realistic_ photoshops or digitally rendered images are allowed. If the commenters begin pointing out how obvious the photoshop is, we'll retroactively remove it.
8. No Injury / Gore Focused Images: Avoid images solely focused on injuries or gore. If these elements are _part_ of the image but not the main focus, they're acceptable.
9. No Porn or Fetish Material: This isn't a dumping ground for sexual content. What you do in your free time isn't any of our business.
10. Avoid Making Meta posts unless necessary: Unless you'd like to take a really large stance on the subreddit's current standing, please instead use this post or appropriate news posts for discussion about the subreddit.
11. Upload your images directly to Reddit: We've found that images that aren't uploaded directly to Reddit often don't show up in subreddit subscribers' feeds. Alongside this, people who do find links on a page like this often don't like to click on them. Therefore, we would prefer that you only upload your images directly to Reddit (however Imgur is whitelisted, just in case you aren't able to upload directly to Reddit.)
12. Submission titles must begin with "cursed_": The titles of cursed images should be short and simple. The titles of cursed images traditionally aim to replicate the format of a digital file that has been plucked off of a shady website, hard drive, private message, anything like that. Titles should **NOT** be about how you found the image, a full explanation of the contents of the image, or your personal remarks about the image (such as, no saying "wtf is this" in your title)
13. No Videos, Image Compilations or Textposts: Animated videos, collages of multiple images, or a post focusing heavily on text aren't permitted here. A "video" is any method of animated content: such as digital recordings, animations, and other motion-picture formats. **Non-animated GIFs are counted as videos and will still be removed by the bot, so convert them to another image format.** Collages / collections of different images, are removed if even a single image isn't cursed, so split them up first.
14. Follow Reddit's Content Policy: To be kept brief, don't engage in or encourage: * Harassment (sexism, racism, or sexualism) * Child or animal abuse (violent, negligent, sexual, etc.) * Promoting violence (i.e; rallying people to go hurt others, not pictures of a violent act) * Images containing the death of a person (a picture of genuine skeleton or a body prepared for burial is fine. A picture of someone who just died is not.) * Tag your NSFW posts (Gore and nudity, mostly.)
15. Avoid well-known or frequent reposts: Reposts are not permitted if they fall into any of the following categories: * The image has been posted here in the past 3 months * The image can be found in the newest 200 posts * The image is already in the top 100 posts of all time * The image is already in the top 50 posts of the year However, don't feel bad if you accidentally break this rule. This subreddit has a lot of images, and you're never expected to remember them all.
