Don't launch hereSelf-promotion or “I made X” posts get removed or banned.

Can you post your project here?

Posts showing personal crafts are welcome, but direct promotion, selling, sharing social media links, or asking where to buy items is banned outside of a specific monthly thread. Even personal projects cannot have promotional elements like asking if people would buy them or discussing prices.

Before you post: Promotion, selling, social media links, asking where to buy, and discussing prices outside of the monthly shop thread are banned. Personal crafts are allowed but cannot include any promotional aspects.

The rules, in their words

  1. Be kind and remember the human.: Comments that dismiss or insult other users or the craft they share, will be removed. Constructive criticism is greatly encouraged, but remember the *constructive* part. Comments on a user's appearance, especially those of a sexual nature, creepy, gross or any comments that are similar to that, will be removed and the user banned from this subreddit.
  2. Do not post shop, social media, or promotion info/links outside of the monthly shop thread.: r/crafts is a no promotion subreddit. Anything that is viewed by our moderating team as promotion may be subject to a ban. This includes, but is not limited to; websites, links, shop names, or social media, mentioning you take commissions (either as a post, in a comment, or in the photo description), or asking for where to buy something. You may use the flair next to your username. You are able to have a Small Non-Distracting watermark on your pictures to protect the ownership of your work.
  3. Blogs aren't allowed unless it's a free tutorial: Blog posts/articles are not allowed unless you are posting a free tutorial directly on your site. Free tutorial means that it doesn't ask for an email address in exchange for access. Blogs must also not have multiple affiliate links. If you'd like to share pictures of something you've made, you must use an image hosting site (imgur, flickr, etc.), not your blog/personal site/etc.
  4. Limit posting to only once every 24 hours: Limit posting to only one post every 24 hours. You can compile an album on a picture hosting site, not social media, if you need more than the photo limit on Reddit. More than one post a day will be removed.
  5. No Craft Fair Posts: Anything relating to craft fairs are not allowed. There are other subreddits to ask about displays/pricing/etc associated with hosting or attending a craft fair.
  6. Video links are not allowed as their own post.: Video links are not allowed as a post. Either post a picture of your finished craft and link a tutorial in the comments or post a short clip (under 60 seconds) on an image-sharing site or reddit itself. Short clips are still subject to the no self-promotion rule. Therefore, they will be removed if hosted on facebook, instagram, tiktok, etc.
  7. Any poster that is considered "low effort" will be removed.: When we say low effort, we mean users that: - people that do not leave comments or interact in another way in r/crafts - It looks as if you post the same link 10+ times to a variety of subreddits with no other interaction. - Reposting the same image or craft over and over again. Please limit to posting the same image to once every 6-12 months. - Posting mass produced items (that have not been altered) as your own craft. - Dropshipping crafts - AI crafts/art
  8. Keep all craft adjacent chat in the 'Craft Adjacent Chat' weekly post.: The 'Craft Adjacent Chat' thread is for chat about coupons, boycotts, etc. You can also ask for crafting help in this thread.
  9. We are not a buy and sell subreddit: R/crafts is not a buy and sell reddit. Therefore, any post or comment attempting sales or asking for social media will be deleted. Please refer to a poster's profile if you would like to know more about the poster.
  10. Tag your post with the appropriate flair. Sensitive Content flairs must also be tagged NSFW.: Due to a number of users wanting to filter out certain types of crafts, please tag your post with the appropriate flair so that posts don't receive unnecessary reports or automatic removals by AutoMod. Due to many folks filtering out Sensitive Content, if you use that flair, you *must* tag your post "NSFW" as well. Sensitive Content flair supersedes all other flair, no matter how applicable other flairs may be. If your post falls under Sensitive Content, please flair it accurately.
  11. Surveys are allowed in the monthly shop thread; not as a separate post.
  12. Memes, comics, and similar type of posts are only allowed on Mondays with the 'Meme Monday' tag
  13. No "Would you buy this?" type posts.: Do not post asking if people would buy an item or discussing prices. This subreddit is for sharing crafts or asking advice on how to build crafts, not buying/selling/promoting anything.
