Post with careYou can post, but there are rules to clear first.

Can you post your project here?

Self-promotion is acceptable in moderation but should not be spammy or solicit likes/views. If you are sharing your own work, ensure your profile doesn't solely consist of spammy links. Progress and accomplishment posts related to instruments are often better suited for instrument-specific subreddits.

Before you post: Self-promotion is allowed but must not be spammy or solicit engagement. Your profile should not appear to be solely dedicated to spamming links. Progress/accomplishment posts on instruments should be directed to instrument-specific subreddits.

The rules, in their words

  1. Keep posts relevant to classical music: Off-topic submissions or submissions that belong better on another sub will be removed, either via AutoModerator or by us. Film scores belong on /r/moviemusic, game soundtracks go on /r/gamemusic, and progress videos and advice requests belong on instrument-specific subreddits (i.e. /r/violinist /r/piano /r/singing /r/guitar). If you would like feedback on a composition, please post in a composition-specific subreddit such as r/composer.
  2. No verbal abuse: We value civil discourse here. **Rude and abusive posts and comments, or those meant to incite arguments or drama, will be removed.**
  3. Self-promotion is acceptable in moderation: Self-promotion is encouraged. If the moderators feel your self promotion is spammy, it may be removed. If sharing your own work, do not ask for likes/views/subscriptions/etc. If the first click on your profile shows you're simply spamming your links everywhere, it will be removed.
  4. No low-effort posts (memes/no educational value): Memes and jokes **should be submitted to /r/ClassicalMemes** - such posts made here will be removed. Posts that are deemed "low effort" will be removed (this includes pictures of composers or musicians without context or reason) **This includes images posted with a question or discussion for no reason other than visibility**. This also include generic music compilations, such as "1 hour of calming classical music"
  5. No sensationalized titles: Posts with **all-caps, clickbait, or otherwise sensationalist titles** will be removed. Examples: "This will make you cry!" / "The best interpretation!"
  6. Titles and posts linking to articles: When submitting a link to a performance, **please state the title and composer**. Feel free to write the names of the performers, the date in which it was written, historical information, etc. Music posts that don't satisfy this requirement will be removed and you'll be asked to resubmit the post with all the information. Any posts related to articles written must link to the article directly.
  7. Progress/Accomplishments/Performances/Own Compositions: Progress and accomplishment posts will be redirected to the appropriate instrument-specific subreddit. Posting your own performances is still allowed, but please avoid posting just brief fragments of a piece. Users looking for feedback on their own compositions will be redirected to a composition-specific subreddit such as r/composer.
  8. Weekly piece ID thread: All piece ID posts must be made within the weekly piece ID thread, piece ID requests must be accompanied by a reference, this can include an audio/visual sample, picture of the sheet music, or even a video of yourself playing/singing it.
  9. No AI-generated Images: Images made using AI, as well as posts discussing AI images, will be removed. Posts discussing other uses of AI in classical music, such as composition AI, are allowed.
  10. No promotion of illegal activity: Discussion of illegal activity and or threats of violence will result in post removal, this includes all drug use and violence against oneself.
