Post with careYou can post, but there are rules to clear first.

Can you post your project here?

There are no specific rules regarding self-promotion or 'I built X' posts. General content rules prohibit zero-content material and require appropriate use of megathreads for career or research questions.

Before you post: Posts that could be considered career or research questions should use the appropriate weekly megathreads. General self-promotion or project showcases are not explicitly mentioned but could fall under 'zero-content material' if not substantive, or might be better suited for other subreddits.

The rules, in their words

  1. Classwork, Homework, Exam, And Lab Questions: Ask classwork, homework, exam, and lab questions (including amateur labs) at [Chemical Forums](http://www.chemicalforums.com/) or /r/chemhelp otherwise they will be removed and you will be banned.
  2. Undergraduate and High School Chemistry: We welcome open-ended and curiosity-based discussions, however they should be sufficiently interesting. For basic questions head to r/AskChemistry or r/AskScience for more general questions.
  3. Nefarious deeds: No dangerous or illegal activities are tolerated in this sub. This includes illicit drug synthesis, bomb making or unsafe chemistry practices.
  4. Being a Jerk: This is a scientifically-oriented and welcoming community, and insulting other commenters or being uncivil or disrespectful is not tolerated.
  5. NSFW: As this is a scientific subreddit, content should be SFW. If for some reason NSFW content needs to be posted, it must be clearly labeled as such. If labeled, the relevance/necessity of the content will be evaluated on a case-by-case basis to determine whether the content stays or not.
  6. Zero-content material: No memes, rage comics, image macros, reaction gifs, or other "zero-content" material. Ever.
  7. ChatGPT and AI Chemistry: No "AI Bad at Chemistry" posts. Discussion around the positive usage of artificial intelligence in the field of chemistry is permitted. However, you should be aware of the limits of specific AI models and shouldn't follow synthesis routes they present without an understanding of the underlying chemistry.
  8. Medical advice: We are not doctors and cannot give you medical advice or judge with certainty if you should or should not seek medical attention. If you are concerned for your health or there are legitimate safety concerns, consult your local poison control hotline or health/cleanup/emergency professionals and refer to the safety data sheet if you can. Reddit is not the place for a fast response in an emergency situation.
  9. Use appropriate Megathreads: For Career- or Research-Questions use the appropriate weekly megathreads pinned to the subreddit. For Salary Questions first check out the salary poll.
