Post with careYou can post, but there are rules to clear first.
Can you post your project here?
Self-promotion links are banned in titles and comments, but can be posted in the monthly self-promotion thread, or in your user flair. You may link to social media in comments if asked, but not in the title. If you post a photo, you must include the film, lens, and camera used in the title.
Before you post: Self-promotion links only allowed in the monthly Self-Promotion thread or user flair. Social media/website links can be provided in comments directly to a user who asks for them.
The rules, in their words
- Photo posts must include Film, Lens, and Camera Body Used in Post Title: Photo posts must include the film stock, lens, and camera used in the post title. If you do not know some of the required information, state that in either the title or top-level comment e.g. [Nikon F3, 50mm f/1.8, Unknown Film], or use [Found Film] for auction/thrift store finds, family photos, and so on. The reason we ask for this information is that you can only search on the content of post titles, not comments.
- Daily Quota on Image Posts: A maximum of 1 photo post can be shared per day (please leave 24 hours between posts). You may submit multiple images at once in an album, which counts as a single photo post.
- No Gear/Film Cache Posts: Post gear to /r/AnalogCommunity. If you believe your post merits its own thread, please contact the mod team for approval before posting.
- No Selling/Trading/Advertising: If you want to sell or trade equipment, services, or other products, please use dedicated communities, such as /r/photomarket. No referral codes or links.
- Tag NSFW Posts: Tag NSFW (Not Safe For Work) posts. This includes: * Nudity: Obvious, implied or strategically covered * Content that is "sexually explicit" * Gore, both human and non-human.
- Criticism, Civility and Good Faith: Constructive criticism of photos is always welcomed here, but comments that are personal attacks, part of a brigade, soap-boxing, disrespectful or marginalise the work or its subject are unacceptable. They will be removed and are grounds for a ban. Not liking a photo and wanting to say so is okay, but do so in a civil and constructive manner. Critique the photo not the subject. Let’s keep things civil.
- No Digital Photos and AI Generated Photos: All submitted photos must have originated on film (or an alternative process). Analog and digital post-processing work is both allowed and encouraged; however, extensive manipulation should be disclosed in the comments. "AI" created images are not allowed, we consider this a digital asset modification. If you suspect a photo was taken digitally, extensively modified using digital assets, or AI generated please report the image, and modmail with your evidence. Do not comment on the thread.
- Ownership & Attribution: You must own or have license to share all images you submit to /r/analog. When submitting an image you did not personally take, include the source in the topic title. If the source name is too long, include it in a comment at time of submission. If you suspect an image is being posted without license/stolen, please report the image, and modmail with your evidence. Do not comment on the thread.
- No Self-Promotion in Topic Titles or Comments: Do not include social media (Instagram, Twitter, etc.), website, video, crowdfunding, or sales (presets, NFTs, workshops) links in titles or top-level comment. If asked for links, you may respond directly to that comment. Please put self-promo links in the monthly Self-Promotion thread. Exceptions: You may use your user flair for promotion. Credit models and link to their public social media in a comment below the image post, if they consent to this. No onlyfans or similar will be allowed.
- Post & Personal Flairs: Flair your posts if possible e.g. using the “Critique Wanted” flair if you are specifically looking for critique on your photo, “Help Wanted” for questions, etc. You may use your personal subreddit flair for instagram handles, flickr links, etc.
- Anti-NSFW and Sexualised Comments: If you are complaining about NSFW posts in a NSFW tagged post, your comment will be removed and is grounds for a temporary or permanent ban, given without warning. If you had NSFW posts disabled in your account settings, you wouldn't see these posts in the first place, so could not comment on them. Sexualised comments (including innuendo) will get your comment removed and is grounds for a temporary or permanent ban, given without warning.
- Anti-Bullying: Bullying users by following them from post to post, reigniting old arguments, the use of comments used by previous post authors in defence against your or others attacks, or using circle jerk catchphrases will get your comment or post removed and may be grounds for a temporary or permanent ban, given without warning.
