Can you post your project here?

Submissions must feature an unexpected twist and not rely on the title for the surprise. Avoid generic titles and rehosting webcomics. Content should be civil, and while video quality will be considered, the core requirement is a genuine unexpected element.

Before you post: Rule 6 explicitly states that videos where people 'make something cool or funny aren't unexpected' and 'Ads are not unexpected'. This indicates a clear ban on promotional content.

The rules, in their words

1. Bad Title: Submissions must have an unexpected twist of their own, and not rely on their title to surprise the reader. Don't give the outcome away in the title. No generic titles - 'I did not expect that', 'wait for it', 'wow' and the like are not acceptable. r/unexpected/wiki/titles
2. Rehosted Comic: Do NOT rehost webcomics. You may provide an imgur mirror in the comments.
3. Unmarked NSFW/NSFL: Mark all NSFW/NSFL submissions as such.
4. Keep Content Civil: Keep the comments civil; no flamewars or insults. *Remember the human.* We follow reddit's [content policy](https://www.redditinc.com/policies/content-policy) and reddit's [reddiquette](https://support.reddithelp.com/hc/en-us/articles/205926439-Reddiquette) on r/unexpected.
5. No Reposts: Please look through our [Top submissions](http://www.reddit.com/r/Unexpected/top/) to avoid reposts. Frequent or recent reposts may be removed.
6. Expected/No twist: Submissions should be unexpected in some form. While it may have been unexpected for you, please keep in mind that it should still contain some [twist for the viewer](https://www.reddit.com/r/Unexpected/wiki/unexpected). Videos where they make something cool or funny aren't unexpected. Ads are not unexpected. Violence isn't automatically unexpected. Jump scares and mashups are not unexpected.

8. No death or abuse: Death isn't allowed on r/unexpected, nor are dying or dead bodies, or abuse. Please visit the appropriate subs instead.
9. No linking to Reddit: We ask that you do not link to other reddit posts/comments.
10. No minors: Submissions and comments must not involve sexualization of, neglect of, or harm to minors. This includes the subtle implication or consequence of minor involvement in sexual content, even indirectly or in cases where age isn't directly stated.
11. No glorifying violence/tragedy: Do not glorify, praise, or joke about violent acts or tragedies. Doing so could result in a ban.
12. Follow Reddit's TOS: Remember to follow [Reddit's TOS](https://www.redditinc.com/policies/user-agreement-september-25-2023). Do not post hateful content against others and do not threaten anyone. Hateful content includes racism, xenophobia, sexism, ableism, homophobia, transphobia, bigotry, etc.
13. Politics: There are plenty of subs for politics. There can be unexpected things which happen with politicians, but if someone who does not recognise the individuals would not see the twist then the post likely does not belong here. There is no need for political debate in comments.
14. No low/poor quality videos: Videos with low resolution, pixelization, compression artifacts, distorted color or audio, with poor focus, sharpness or frame rates WILL be removed. Altered videos (obtained from other sources) showing a video playing inside another video, or including talking faces, animated objects, fake laughs & sounds or other effects MAY also be removed, if the alteration seems overdone. Moderator's discretion will apply in this rule.
