Can you post your project here?

Posts must include commentary about the design, like the idea behind it and artist/shop information. Explicitly posting your own work as an artist is allowed but avoid advertising or promotion. New accounts with under 20 karma or 20 days old will be removed.

The rules, in their words

1. Speak your mind, but be civil and not creepy: **Constructive criticism is allowed, don't be an asshole or a creep.** * This isn't a dedicated snark sub, if you want to mock tattoos then please join r/shittytattoos. * ANY comments made on personal appearance or user's body will lead to a permanent ban, even as a joke or if you think you're being helpful. Keep comments about the tattoo, not the body it's on. When answering "what style is this," keep pointlessly rude comments to yourself unless they specifically ask people's opinions.
2. Add some commentary & focus on the design: Don't just post photos, tell us about it. **Please include the artist and shop name.** Examples of info to share: - Explain the idea behind the design - Whether or not you're happy with it - Any technical difficulties that came into play when getting / giving it - The tattoo styles / artistic currents / cultural elements / personal experiences that influenced it - Concept sketches, etc. **Photos need to focus on the tattoo(s), not the "canvas." In other words, no thirst traps.**
3. Avoid price discussions: We don't allow price discussion since all artists charge differently. Find an artist whose work you like and set up a consultation. Additionally, hunting for the best deal instead of choosing the right artist for your project hinders the design process. Choose the right artist and save up, you're worth it.
4. Don't encourage scratching: Scratching is unsafe tattooing, done outside a sterile studio or private space, without sterilised or new single-use equipment. This sub won't be a platform for it on account of the risks it poses to both client & artist. Less importantly, it usually yields low quality results. It's not synonymous with stick-&-poke tattoos, which are fine when done with proper technique, inside a sterile space, with sterile tools.
5. Credit the artist: When posting (non CC) images for inspiration / reference / etc., make sure to credit the artist, preferably in the title but at the very least in a comment. If it's a tattoo artist, including the studio name and location is a bonus but not a replacement for artist credit. For images found online, use reverse search: https://tinyurl.com/v8lnp28 Artists: when posting your own work, claim it somewhere in the title or with a tag.
6. Refrain from art theft & plagiarism: Claiming authorship of someone else's artwork & posting plagiarised art are grounds for a permanent ban. Do not steal posts to earn karma, you'll receive a permanent ban. Please report stolen artwork if you see it around- and include a link to the original either in a comment or in a private message to the Mod Team so we can verify.
7. Mind the automod - no brand new accounts: To avoid spam, posts from accounts under 20 karma / 20 days of account age are automatically removed by a bot. "How can I earn karma if you won't let me post?" Reddit is a huge website, not all subreddits have age/karma thresholds.
8. Don't spam, no promoting other than sharing artist info: When posting multiple tattoos from one artist, please add all the photos into one post. One post full of images is enough, don't spam the sub. Do not repost your work to try to earn more karma. Don't spam comments. Artist social media can be shared but no advertising or promotion. No memes, contests, surveys, Discord (etc) invites, giveaways, sales, money-raising events or asking for donations, or any kind of porn ads. This includes the InkedMag contest, you will be permanently banned.
9. NSFW must be tagged, including all scars. No fresh blood. No medical questions.: If your pictures involve any content warning such as nudity, scars, or tattoos containing gore, your post must be tagged NSFW and the title should mention it as a warning. No fresh blood. If you do not tag your post, it may be removed without warning. If you continuously break this rule, you will be banned. Medical questions need to be asked in r/tattooadvice.
10. No asking for art or clients, or offering to draw tattoos: This isn't a sub to try to get free art, or to ask someone to draw for you even if you offer payment. Research local artists, find one whose style you like, and hire them. It's part of their job to help you with the design. Unfortunately you're bound to get more scam replies from this sub than actual artists. This also isn't a sub to find clients or make sales.
