Promoting projects or books is allowed, but you must use a self-post and include a sample poem. Posts must be tagged with [PROMO] and should be detailed about the product.

The rules, in their words

1. No Original Content: Discuss the general world of poetry, don't post Original Content; share your work on our sister sub /r/ocPoetry, /r/ocpoetryfree or /r/thepoetryworkshop.
2. Tag your Title: Put a [TAG] in your post title. Available tags are: * [POEM] - For sharing published poetry (not your original work) * [ARTICLE] - For sharing an article about poetry or a poet * [OPINION] - For discussion * [RESOURCE] - For rhyming dictionaries, apps, etc * [HELP] - For homework help or identifying a poem * [PROMO] - For promoting a project/book * [OPPORTUNITY] - publishing or writing opportunities * [META] - For discussing the subreddit (subject to mod approval)
3. Do your homework: To ask for homework help, state that you are asking for homework help and show how far you've gotten.
4. Be detailed: To sell something, use a self post and offer a sample poem. To promote something, like publications, be detailed about your product.
5. Don't use URL shorteners.: Do not use a URL shortener.
6. Hall of Fame: [This](https://www.reddit.com/r/Poetry/wiki/halloffame/) is a list of famous poems that get reposted quite a lot. We've collected them and put them in a museum exhibit of sorts as a way of freeing up space on the subreddit for a larger variety of poetry
7. Toxic behavior: This is a place to enjoy and discuss poetry, not a place to pick fights. Don't be an ass.
8. Unpublished work: This sub is for published poetry. That is, poems that have been published in a journal or literary magazine. Self publishing on social media doesn't count.
