Post with careYou can post, but there are rules to clear first.

Can you post your project here?

Self-promotional content is allowed only if you are a regular, actively participating member of the subreddit with a history of thoughtful contributions. Simply posting a link to your own content without prior engagement is considered spam.

Before you post: Must be a 'regular' user with sustained, thoughtful participation (comments and links across reddit, not just rapid-fire self-promotion).

The rules, in their words

  1. Uncivil / Harassment: **Be civil at all times**. We appreciate that people are passionate about outdoor issues, and heated debate often descends into argument — but you must remain civil and respectful. "Remember the human" often applies — when it doesn't (maybe your opponent is terrible!) at least remember that you have an audience; if you want to get your message across, being calm and collected in the face of incivility will garner their respect. **Harassment** of any sort will merit an immediate permaban.
  2. Spam: Do not spam. Users may submit a limited amount of 'self-promotional' content (e.g. their blog, their product, their website) **only** if they have participated on /r/Outdoors in the past with a variety of contributions. This means we expect to see comments and links posted across reddit on your account, and they must not be rapid-fire attempts to appear active; we require sustained, thoughtful participation. You must be a 'regular' user. In addition, you must adhere to reddit's Content Policy.
  3. Personal information (e.g. dox): Under no circumstances is it acceptable to post other users' personal information. **Always respect other users' privacy!** Breaking this rule will result in an immediate ban from /r/Outdoors and you will be reported to reddit's admins.
  4. English only: All submissions must be in English, or feature an English translation *in the headline/title*. **Non-English comments** are acceptable, but consider adding a translation for the benefit of our subscribers, the majority of whom are likely to speak English as a first or second language.
  5. Off-topic: Content must be related to the Outdoors, *somehow*. We are broad in what we allow, but don't post pictures of your cat looking out the window, your fancy restaurant meal, you having a beer with the lads, or your new MP3 player; there are more appropriate subreddits to post these things in!
  6. Morbid Content: Please do not post anything involving death or hardcore nature. Nobody wants to see that here.
  7. No bug bites: Creepy crawlies are a core part of the outdoor experience, however, we kindly request that if you need help identifying a bug bite, you ask in r/bugbites.
