Self-promotion and advertising of any kind are strictly forbidden on this subreddit. This is a recovery forum and not a place to market products, services, or personal brands.

Before you post: Rule 4 explicitly prohibits advertising, self-promotion, and marketing of any kind, including products, services, blogs, or websites.

The rules, in their words

1. Don't post porn or sexual media.: Posting porn on NoFap's subreddit is strictly forbidden. Posting porn images, porn videos, links to porn, etc will quickly result in a ban from NoFap. Posting anything sexual with the specific intent to troll will definitely result in a ban. Consider adding warnings to potentially-arousing text, or even blocking it out with Reddit's "spoiler" feature.
2. Don't post discriminatory material or hate speech here.: NoFap hosts an inclusive subreddit. Porn addiction doesn't discriminate. Any disrespectful language or sweeping statements directed towards any particular group of people is not permitted and will result in a swift ban. This extends to sex, gender, nationality, race, ethnicity, disability, LGBTQ+, and other groups of people.
3. Don't attempt to use NoFap as a replacement for therapy/treatment/mental healthcare/healthcare.: If you have a health concern, talk to a medical professional. If you feel as if your sexual habits are a debilitating addiction for you, please contact a mental health professional in addition to seeking peer support. We always recommend seeking a therapist in conjunction with the peer support that NoFap offers. If you are feeling suicidal or want to self-harm, contact a prevention hotline immediately and seek the services of a properly-credentialed therapist.
4. Don't advertise, self-promote, or otherwise market anything.: NoFap hosts a porn addiction recovery forum. It isn't your Twitter feed. Advertising and self-promotion of any kind is not permitted. This is not the place for you to promote your (or somebody you know, work for, or were directed to advertise by) products, merchandise, article, blog, ebook, video, mailing list, crowd-funding campaign, website, forum, personal brand, etc, even if you find such material useful.
5. Avoid religious or religious debate content.: NoFap is a secular website, although the usership consist of members from all backgrounds. Please refrain from posting things related to religion unless if you're sharing your own personal story. If someone mentions how religion or non-religion has helped them in their personal journey, please do not criticize them. Likewise, don't go into other people's threads and try to preach to them. Proselytizing is strictly prohibited.
6. Stay on-topic. Posts must be about sexual self-improvement, such as porn addiction/CSBD recovery.: Don't post off-topic submissions that have nothing to do with recovery from porn addiction, porn overuse, compulsive sexual behavior, or sexual health. Self-development posts are okay, if presented in the context of sexual health. If you have a question about moderation, send it to modmail. Posts about politics, "pickup", or other unrelated stuff will be removed.
7. Don't collect personal information from the community.: You are not allowed to ask for names, email addresses, or other contact information. This extends to ads for "accountability" app partners, which are too risky to use with strangers online. Any surveys must be approved by the moderation team before being posted. NoFap is happy to participate in research studies! But we limit how many can be advertised at any time. Contact NoFap at contact@NoFap.com from an academic email first to verify your academic credentials.
8. Don't disrupt other places.: Don't organize personal campaigns, infiltration, spamming, brigades, or otherwise try to disrupt the everyday functionality of websites, forums, social media pages, subreddits, or any other entity.
9. Don't moralize or disparage people's sexual health choices. This is not an anti-masturbation forum.: This is a sex-positive forum for recovery & self-improvement. Unrelated topics, such as anti-masturbation advocacy, petitions to "ban porn" or disparaging people who choose to engage in sex work or moderate porn use or moderate masturbation (outside of compulsion/excess) is against the spirit of a recovery-orientated forum. We all have different approaches to recovery. Respect other people's personal choices and recovery parameters, including those who wish to masturbate in moderation.
10. Don't stir up drama.: If you have a problem with a particular user, the subreddit, NoFap, etc, message the mods instead of stirring up drama on the forum. Also, avoid personal attacks in the comments. If you have an issue with what another person posted, attack their argument rather than the person! Personal insults will likely result in a posting suspension, regardless of who started it. If somebody insults you personally, report the post to the mod team - rather than insulting them back!
11. Avoid politics.: While respectful conversations about porn and society are tolerated, including policy discussion, sweeping divisive political language is off-topic and divisive. Avoid comments that make personally insulting generalizations about mainstream political parties or philosophies. ("all Democrats are x", "all Republicans are x") This is a recovery forum, not a forum for political debate. Further, as this is a recovery forum, we do not allow the organization of political campaigns (which is off-topic).
12. Avoid spreading misinformation.: To avoid the spread of misinformation, blatantly misleading posts are subject to removal. If you are speculating, please make that clear. If you are sharing an anecdotal report, please make that clear. For example, if you notice that you are sleeping better after 8 days of recovery, state that "I am sleeping better" rather than "YOU will sleep better after 8 days." If you are making a scientific claim, cite it.
13. Don't engage in piracy/copyright/trademark infringement.: Don't share pirated versions/PDFs of books, which can cause financial harm to authors. Instead, link to the author's homepage, Amazon, Good Reads, or other sources to purchase the book. Don't otherwise infringe upon other people's intellectual property.
14. Stay positive and encourage others. Don't discourage or disparage people.: Please try your best to submit thoughtful, encouraging posts. Help us keep this place one of the most positive subreddits on Reddit! Default to "supportive" rather than "tough love" style posts. Further, do not joke about harmful activities such as "castration" or self-harm, but instead aim for legitimately helpful and supportive comments.
15. Read the full disclaimer and rules.: Given that this is a pornography addiction recovery forum, our rules are a bit more strict than other subreddits.
