Can you post your project here?

You are explicitly forbidden from posting your own music, unless you are a verified famous musical celebrity. If you are not a celebrity, you must not post your own music.

Before you post: Rule 7 states: 'Don't post your own music.' Famous musical celebrities are exempt.

The rules, in their words

  1. No songs from the Hall of Fame: Songs listed in our [Hall of Fame](/r/music/w/halloffame) will be automatically removed.
  2. No discussions "about, of, or for" the author: Please ensure that all discussion posts are "for" the community. Sharing your own story is fine, so long as it's part of a larger discussion post that's conducive to discussion.
  3. Title Formatting: Artist - Title [Genre]: Title formatting: **Artist - Title [Genre]** Music should be titled using this formatting, including spacing, dashes, and [brackets] for the genre. **Titles should be objective, not editorialized.** To include interesting details, personal stories, or other information, simply reply with a comment *after you've submitted* your post. --- Example: *Rush - The Spirit of Radio [Prog Rock] (1980) Live in Canada*
  4. Artist repost limitations: Music by artists who've recently had a popular post (100+ upvotes) is automatically removed for the next 30 days to ensure content remains fresh. If your post is removed, consider trying another artist.
  5. No clickbait: Music should stand on its own, and titles should be objective. No emotional appeals, asking for votes, or other 'clickbait.' Editorializing should be left to the comments.
  6. High-quality discussions only: Discussion posts should be thoughtfully crafted to encourage meaningful, civil, and constructive conversation; avoid low-effort requests for artist, song, or album recommendations. Cross-posts must be edited to remove clickbait.
  7. Don't post your own music: It is your responsibility to read and understand [Reddit's guidelines on self-promotion before submitting your own music.](https://www.reddit.com/wiki/selfpromotion) Famous musical celebrities are exempt. [For verification, contact the staff privately.](https://www.reddit.com/message/compose/?to=/r/Music&message=Celebrity Verification) For original music, double-check your submission after 2-3 minutes. Ensure the flair is set to 'I Made This'.
  8. No request-style posts: **Avoid personal requests or help identifying a tune. This includes 'tip of my tongue' style posts, or recommendations based on your interests.** * For fresh music by smaller artists, check out r/listentothis * For interest-based suggestions, you could visit /r/ifyoulikeblank or /r/ifyoulikeblankmusic * For help identifying a song or melody, try /r/tipofmytongue or /r/namethatsong.
  9. Use official artist channels for linked music: **External links should use official artist channels** Whenever possible, external links should use respective artist channels. Exceptions are made for exclusive/limited releases, sites where such channels are unavailable, or at staff discretion.
  10. No solicitation: The r/Music community thrives on genuine interaction and exploration. We do not allow posts requesting: * Surveys, questionnaires, or data-mining * Signups, votes, or participation in studies * Crowdfunding, requests to donate, enter contests * Personal information requests * Ads
  11. No unauthorized music: **No links to pirated, leaked, or unreleased music. No promotion of piracy or similar acts.** This subreddit is for discussing and sharing legally available music only. No links to pirated, leaked, or unreleased music, such as torrent sites, file-sharing platforms, or unofficial YouTube channels. No promotion of piracy or similar acts, such as encouraging others to download or stream music illegally. This rule helps to respect the rights and efforts of the creators and distributors of music.
  12. Stay on-topic: **Stay relevant. Submissions must be explicitly related to music, music technology, or the music industry.** Statements and actions by musicians not relevant to their musical work are not allowed. Articles discussing *significant* events in musicians’ lives are subject to staff discretion. If in doubt, contact the moderation team. Avoid 'anniversary' and 'on this date' posts unless they're meaningful and relevant. Room for interpretation allowed for highly-engaging posts.
  13. Be respectful, follow Reddiquette: Please don't kill the vibe. Use common sense. Maintain civility and treat others with respect. **Users must follow [Reddiquette](https://support.reddithelp.com/hc/en-us/articles/205926439).** It's your responsibility to read and understand these guidelines.
  14. No playlist posts: **No playlists sharing/gathering and similar posts.** Submissions should be limited to individual songs. This helps ensure a diverse selection of music from many different users. If you want to share or request playlists, you might visit /r/IMadeAPlaylist or /r/SpotifyPlaylists instead. This rule helps to promote music discovery and appreciation. Avoid making posts requesting music for yourself alone. Start a proper discussion and invite everyone to share with everybody involved.
  15. No low-effort, hastily-written or AI content: Discussions on r/Music should promote meaningful and substantive discussions about music-related topics. Hastily written/off-topic text posts will be removed. *Organic, human-created content only. Sharing AI-generated content can result in a ban. AI generated music is expressly forbidden.*
