Self-promotion is allowed, but posts must be hosted directly on Reddit or Imgur. You must also engage with the community by commenting on at least one other post for every post you make. Use the appropriate flair and ensure your content is high quality.

The rules, in their words

1. Posts MUST be hosted on Reddit or Imgur [NO LINK SPAM to Youtube/Soundcloud]: r/LoFiHiphop no longer allows users to make Link Posts outright. Please see this handy Infographic for how to post: https://tinyurl.com/ye27zxye In short, post your clip/video DIRECTLY TO REDDIT (using the Image & Video Tab) or to Imgur! This way people will actually see your post (no one clicks on External Links to Youtube or Soundcloud. Trust us.) For self promotion, you are ENCOURAGED to link your socials/video in the Comments or Caption of the post!
2. Support Artists and Producers!: People work hard to produce, edit, and create for the sub. Show your support for this hard work via comments and upvoting them! If you post to the sub, yo should be leaving AT LEAST one comment on another thread/post every time you post something of your own to r/LoFiHipHop. In short, people who post here should be engaging with the community. This is just an easy way to identify people who solely aim to use r/LoFiHipHop to spam their own content without thinking of others.
3. Posts Must be Lo-Fi Hiphop Related: Lo-Fi is a very broad genre, but not everything that is Lo-Fi is LoFiHipHop. Feel free to post various subgenres of Lo-Fi like Jazzhop, Chillhop, etc, but keep it on topic. Popular mistakes are posting Trap, Ambient, or Rap tracks.
4. Quality Limitations and Guidelines: Low Fidelity does not equal Low Quality We get that Quality is subjective, and don't want to over use this rule whenever possible, but the r/LoFiHipHop Mod team reserves the right to remove posts that seem to be incomplete or especially poor quality. We recommend you post these tracks on our Bi Weekly feedback thread, pinned at the Top of the sub. Thanks for understanding.
5. Community Guidelines / Proper Flair Usage: Posting on r/lofihiphop is easy Flair your posts correctly for starters! A [Tape/Album] is reserved only for actual EP's and LP's. These need to be AT LEAST 3 tracks in length and 8 minutes long [Mix/Playlists] are curated setlists of music from different artists [Resources] are anything that can provide utility to a producer or musician [Requesting Collab] should be for, you guessed it, requesting collabs with people As for community guidelines: Just don't be a decent human being. Easy
6. AI Generated/Prompted Music will result in a Permaban: This is a subreddit for producers and fans of the genre. Not AI spam Any user posting AI music here on the sub will be banned.
