Self-promotion and sharing personal projects are not explicitly mentioned or permitted as the subreddit focuses on sharing content of illegally smol cats. Posts that are not original content or are perceived as karma farming may be removed. Financial support links are banned.

Before you post: Rule 5 prohibits posting content that isn't your own and pretending it is, and generally views cross-posting and karma farming negatively. Rule 6 bans financial support links. The subreddit's focus is on smol cats, not personal projects.

The rules, in their words

1. No Reposts: Images/links posted previously will be removed. We promote OC here! Exact reposts, meaning a copy/paste of a title with the same media, may earn you a permanent ban.
2. Be Nice : In this subreddit, there will be zero tolerance for rude or hateful conduct of any kind. This includes, but is not limited to, racism, sexism, transphobia, and xenophobia. Targeted harassment of users will be met with a ban, as per Reddit’s sitewide policy.
3. Smol Cats Only: In this part of town we pride ourselves on rounding up the smol, cutest, little *kittens* and sharing them for all to appreciate. Images, videos, and GIFs are all welcome as long as they are not reposts. Kitten to cat posts are okay as long as the smol photo is first (use the flair --> Smol to Lorge). In case this needs to be said, the sub is for smol kittens, not small adult cats. We love smol dogs too but they will receive the most love elsewhere... try r/illegallysmoldogs !
4. No Joking About Animal Cruelty, Harm, or Death: This is a wholesome subreddit and not a place for edgy humor or jokes. This rule is ZERO TOLERANCE. The first offense will lead to a permaban.
5. Karma Farming and Excessive Cross-Posting is Not Allowed: Karma farming, excessive cross-posting, and especially, posting content that isn't your own but pretending it is... these things aren't welcome here! We prefer original content! Cross-posting from other subs is okay as long as you’re the OP. Most cross-posting will be viewed as karma farming and posts will be removed with few warnings. Repeated violations will result in a permaban.
6. No Financial Support Links (Fundraising, Crowdfunding, Wishlists): Financial support links are not permitted in this subreddit. Please refrain from posting links to GoFundMe, PayPal, Amazon wishlists, or similar websites. It does not matter if the link has been requested by a well-meaning community member. Any posts or comments soliciting or facilitating donations will result in a 48 hour ban for the first offense and permaban for the second.
7. Accurate Flair is Desired: All posts should have accurate flair. If for some reason, you believe the flair on a post is incorrect, you may report the post and it will be reviewed. For example, standard issue smol... that's for the r/standardissuecat smols. Developing smol tortitude is for r/torties that are smol. Same with standing up, see r/catsstandingup. Users abused banana for scale so now it's mod only... 🍌
8. No Memorial/Graphic Injury Posts: This is a place for sharing nice photos of smol cats to lift the spirits of the Reddit community. Please refrain from posting photos or stories of kitties who have crossed the rainbow bridge. However, moderator discretion applies.
9. No Requesting or Offering Medical Advice: Posts or comments soliciting medical advice are not permitted! Offering medical advice is also not permitted! The only qualified medical advice that is allowed is, "consult with a vet." A first violation of this rule will result in a 48 hour ban, and a second violation will result in a permaban.
10. Moderator Discretion: The moderation team has the ability to, within reason, cultivate a culture of posts and comments that is deemed appropriate to foster a positive community. We do try not to take it too far but sometimes, when posts receive too many reports, the community helps us decide how to handle controversial topics.
11. No Uninvited Bot Accounts: No uninvited bots allowed! No exceptions. If your account is suspected to be a bot, your content will be removed accordingly. No karma farming is allowed in this subreddit (rule 5). There is zero tolerance and your account will be banned.
12. Absolutely *NO* NSFW Accounts: We choose to keep it classy in this subreddit. Only SFW accounts are permitted to post and comment here. Please don't complain about the fact that you're in a sub that has kids (minors or under 18) using it. There is zero tolerance and your account will be banned.
