Don't launch hereSelf-promotion or “I made X” posts get removed or banned.

Can you post your project here?

Self-promotion is generally banned unless you have received explicit permission from the moderators beforehand. All other posts must be related to the show or books and adhere to spoiler and crediting rules.

Before you post: Posts about your own site/channel/product/social media account/etc. will be removed unless express permission from the mod team is obtained.

The rules, in their words

  1. No Bigotry or Harassment : We won't tolerate hatred of any kind against anyone. This overlaps with the civility policy of rule number three. Use of ANY slurs is strictly prohibited. **Respect everyone's pronouns** * NO Discriminatory speech, hate speech, or stereotypes * NO Racism * NO Misgendering * NO Body shaming, gossip, or speculation * NO Homophobia * NO Transphobia * NO Misogyny * NO Sexism * NO Ableism * NO Derogatory language towards members of the cast and crew * NO Misandry * NO Ageism
  2. No spoilers: * All post titles must NOT include spoilers from Fire & Blood or new episodes of House of the Dragon. * Show spoilers are allowed in your title ONE WEEK after episode airing. However, major character deaths are not allowed. * All posts dealing with book spoilers must be spoiler tagged and flaired as a book spoiler. * All book spoiler comments must be spoiler tagged in non book spoiler threads. * Episode discussions will be split into two posts. One for the books and one for show only.
  3. No being uncivil to other users: Users who are engaging in personal attacks or are otherwise being overly hostile or rude may have their comments removed and may be banned. The main goal of this rule is to ensure the subreddit is a safe and welcoming place for everyone.
  4. No Reposts: * No reposting of news, memes, or discussion threads. Please use the "search" bar to see if your topic is already being discussed. * Theory discussions are allowed as long as you bring something new to the table!
  5. No piracy: Ultimately, how you source your media is your business. The direct discussion of illicit means of viewing and acquisition, as well as the sharing of such sourced materials, is forbidden, i.e. no linking (or requesting) torrents, streams, downloads, etc.
  6. No self promotion: Posts about your own site/channel/product/social media account/etc. will be removed, unless you have received express permission from the mod team before posting.
  7. No unreputable social media content: * Any social media content from other websites (such as Twitter, Instagram, etc.) should be from the cast, crew, or a reputable source. Reputable source can mean a journalist, professional TV critic, celebrity, etc. "Reputable" does not mean "respectable". Basically the point of this rule is so that social media content from (basically random) people is not shared and amplified here. If you have an opinion, share it through your own voice, instead of posting someone else's take.
  8. No low effort posts or comments: Low quality posts and/or comments, and the discussions spawned from them, can be subject to removal at moderator discretion.
  9. Leaks: * Leaks should be isolated in their own thread with the leak flair and a spoiler tag. * Comments with leaks need to ONLY be in the leak thread. Leaks aren't allowed outside of that thread, even with spoiler tags. * **The moderation team reserves the right to remove posts or comments we feel pose a risk of a copyright strike to the subreddit.**
  10. Credit all artwork, images, news and videos: Please credit all artwork, images, news and videos. Posting fan content made by others must link to the original creator or artist's gallery or place of submission. Artists and creators should be credited within the title of the post. This does not apply to screenshots/frames/stills of the show, trailers, or other official media.
  11. No off-topic posts or comments: The content - not the just title - of any submission should have some direct relationship to the A Song of Ice and Fire universe (House of the Dragon, Game of Thrones, supplementary materials, etc.). For example, a meme from The Office with a HoTD related title is not allowed. You should be able to tell the content is relevant to the subreddit without the context of the title.
  12. Discuss the show, not the fandom: This subreddit is for discussing House of the Dragon itself. Discussions about conflict in the fandom, particularly with regards to Team Black vs Team Green, should be taken elsewhere. This rule also extends beyond team conflicts.
  13. No unrelated and/or modern day politics: While House of the Dragon covers political topics and themes, this is not an inherently political subreddit. No unrelated and/or modern day politics are allowed.
  14. Rape/Sexual Assault Denial or Minimization : Comments or posts denying or minimizing instances of sexual assault on the show, "playing the devil's advocate" about them, or attempting in any way to conflate these instances with consensual sex acts are strictly prohibited and will result in a ban.
  15. Post Flairs: Content must align with the scope of the post flair. (Example - discussed content from the Books in a "Show" flaired post is not allowed).
