Can you post your project here?

Posts must be historical photographs taken at least 20 years ago. Titles need to include the date, context, and resolution, with no commentary. Colorized images require a specific tag and a link to the original.

Before you post: This subreddit is focused solely on historical photographs, and there are no rules that allow for or encourage self-promotion of personal projects or products.

The rules, in their words

1. Titles should contain date, context and resolution: # - Include an accurate description of the photograph (event, location, war, year, etc) in the title. - Titles should not include commentary, opinion or information about the circumstances surrounding the person/event in the image. commentary and supplementary information in the comments. - Titles should not include any political or cultural interpretation or observation. # - Include the date of the photograph in the title. # - Include the resolution in [brackets] in the title.
2. Only submit historical photographs.: Posters, illustrations and postcards are not permitted. Please only submit historic photographs.
3. Images must be taken at least 20 years ago.: Images submitted here must be of historical events, taken at least 20 years ago.
4. Pictures of family members are not allowed.: Pictures of family members are not allowed in r/HistoryPorn unless they were taken in the context of a verifiable, historically significant event.
5. No reposting of popular posts: Regarding reposts: it is not a repost unless it was posted to /r/HistoryPorn less than three months ago, or if it's already in the top 100 of all time.
6. No hate speech: Personal attacks, abusive language, trolling or bigotry in any form is not allowed, will be removed and banning may result.
7. No commentary in the title: Titles should not include commentary, opinion or information about the circumstances surrounding the person/event in the image. Please add commentary and supplementary information in the comments.
8. Tag colorized images, link original in a comment.: - Colorized photographs need to be tagged with [Colorized] and link to the original photograph in the comments. - Colorized photographs that take too many artistic liberties will be removed, this includes (but is not limited to) removing details or adding things like patterns on clothing that are not visible in the original.
