Post with careYou can post, but there are rules to clear first.

Can you post your project here?

The rules do not explicitly mention or prohibit self-promotion or 'I built X' posts. However, rule 7, 'No memes or low effort content', and rule 10, 'No highly specific/trivial stat posts and low-effort match event posts', suggest that posts must offer genuine value and not be 'cheap karma' grabs.

Before you post: While not explicitly banned, self-promotion posts must not be considered 'low effort' or 'trivial' according to rules 7 and 10. Ensure the post provides significant value and discussion related to cricket.

The rules, in their words

  1. No abuse, racism, homophobia, sexism, trolling, or harassment: Be polite with your contributions and interactions. No personal attacks/abuse of other redditors. Don't be homophobic or sexist. Don't post personal information, witch-hunt or harass others, and don't tag people by username to make fun of them or their opinions. **Racism or deliberate trolling is a permanent ban.**
  2. No reposts: Check the [new queue](https://www.reddit.com/r/Cricket/new/) to make sure your link hasn't already been posted before submitting it. Reposts or multiple posts discussing the same topic from only slightly different perspectives will be removed. If a post already exists, add your related link to the comments section instead.
  3. No editorialised or bad post titles, or paywalled articles without the content: No editorialising of post titles. Don't significantly change the title of a post when you submit it - use the original or suggested title instead. Add your opinion as a comment on your own post if you want. Don't make posts with clickbait, terrible (e.g. all caps), nondescriptive, or uninformative titles. News articles behind a paywall must have the full text of the article posted as a comment.
  4. No irrelevant politics/religion, or posts unrelated to cricket: No political or religious content unless it is directly relevant to the sport. Even then only discuss how it impacts cricket - keep political/religious opinions not related to cricket in other subreddits. All posts submitted must be relevant to cricket. Off-topic comments are ok in general discussion, free talk, and match threads.uninformative, bad post titles.
  5. English language only, unless including a translation: No posts or comments in languages other than English, unless a translation is included.
  6. No flamebait, or insults/generalisations targeting an entire nation or fanbase: No generalised attacks/whinging about other fanbases/countries, or blaming fanbases for downvotes. If you disagree with someone, do it politely and don't insult their entire nation or fanbase. No posts created specifically to attack a team/player/fanbase/country or to create drama. No asking for votes or discussion on posts in other subreddits.
  7. No memes or low effort content: No 'cheap karma' posts or comments. [Please read this guideline](https://www.reddit.com/r/Cricket/wiki/loweffortrule) for more information. No novelty accounts, useless bots, AI generated content, daily voting games, link shorteners, or posts/comments asking mods for things (use modmail).
  8. No streams or illegal/copyrighted content: Do not share or ask for sharing of illegal/copyrighted material or streams. This includes both videos and gifs of match highlights. Share media links from official sources only.
  9. No toxic fan behaviour: Be polite and respectful when expressing negative opinions. No low-effort hate/insults or toxic abuse directed at players, umpires, clubs, fans, associated people, or formats of the game. Do not wish for injuries, or cheer when they happen.
  10. No highly specific/trivial stat posts and low-effort match event posts: Do not post stats which are overly specific or trivial and follow the guidelines around match event posts. More detailed definitions of both can be found [on the wiki](https://www.reddit.com/r/Cricket/wiki/rules#wiki_rule_10.3A_no_highly_specific.2Ftrivial_stat_posts_and_low-effort_match_event_posts)
