Before you post: Rule 4 explicitly bans unsolicited spam and self-promotion, including links to personal blogs or social media. Rule 9 also lists fundraiser links and posts about the NBA as posts to avoid.

The rules, in their words

1. No flamebait, harassment, or personal attacks: This rule will be strictly enforced and all rule violations will be punished regardless of who started it. This rule includes, but is not limited to: * Insults, name-calling, questioning intelligence * Harassing or stalking post history * Referencing scandals to get a reaction * Excessive trash talking * Fanbase attacks
2. No racism, sexism, homophobia, bigotry, etc.: Racism, homophobia, transphobia, sexism, rape jokes, and other forms of bigotry will not be allowed. Even if you’re joking, it can be difficult to convey tone across a computer or phone screen. Since you don’t know the experiences of other people, please avoid any comments that could be perceived as threatening or triggering to others. We want this community to be a friendly place for all ages, genders, races, ethnicities, etc.
3. No personal information: reddit is meant to be a pseudonymous site. Personal information includes, but is not limited to, names, phone numbers, email addresses, social media profiles, and more.
4. Spam/self-promotion is not allowed: Spam: This includes selling products, linking to sites or surveys, and posts that are not valuable to the general /r/CollegeBasketball community. Self-Promotion: This includes links to personal blogs, youtube channels, or other social media. If you aren’t sure whether or not a post violates the spam and self-promotion guidelines, message the mods before posting.
5. No politics or religion: Politics or religion are not allowed in /r/CollegeBasketball unless it directly relates to college basketball. If there is an instance when college basketball and politics or religion overlap, please keep it civil! This rule also includes misinformation or gross generalizations regarding the COVID-19 pandemic.
6. Follow the correct format for game/postgame threads: We have created a bot that generates Game Threads and Post Game Threads - please look for the daily Game Thread Index to request a thread. If the bot is down or the game thread was not created prior to the game ending, users may create a gamethread post manually. There is a very specific format for game/postgame threads titles that we use in /r/CollegeBasketball. Please follow the template or your thread will be removed.
7. Recruiting Posts: All recruiting posts must follow the guidelines we have outlined [here](https://www.reddit.com/r/CollegeBasketball/wiki/recruiting_guidelines). Recruiting posts that do not follow the guidelines listed in the linked post will be removed.
8. Be a positive contributor: ubmissions may be removed or a user banned at the mods' discretion if deemed to be detrimental to the community. This is a general guideline that can encompass all other rules.
