Post with careYou can post, but there are rules to clear first.
Can you post your project here?
Self-promotion or posts about personal projects are not explicitly mentioned. However, rules on low-effort content, repetitive content, and referral links suggest that unsolicited commercial or promotional posts might be removed. Any such post would need to be unique, interesting, and spark discussion rather than being a simple advertisement.
Before you post: Posts that could be considered low-effort or repetitive, including referral links, are discouraged or removed. Any project post must be genuinely novel and engaging to avoid removal.
The rules, in their words
- No Politics: No mention of political events, politicians or general political discussion regardless of context or intent in this subreddit; "but it was a joke!" is not an excuse. We encourage you to take this content to a more suitable subreddit. You *will* be banned for breaking this rule.
- Don't be Aggressive | Pointlessly Argumentative | Being a creepy weirdo: We're here for people to have fun in. If you're just here to start a stupid reddit slap fight, or post unwelcome comments, you're in the wrong place. We have a zero tolerance rule in place for racism or hate speech. We also have a zero tolerance rule against creepy comments made towards other people. **If you are deemed to be acting in bad faith you will be excluded.**
- Not UK Content: We're a UK focused subreddit and we are looking exclusively for content relating to the UK.
- Stop Moaning | Ranting: Come on now, there's so many other places for you to be a moany-pants. So what if your train is delayed and you forgot about your cup of tea and it went cold. If you're frothing at the mouth about something it's probably not appropriate for here.
- Survey | AMA | Charity | Beg Threads | PSA | Referral links: If you have a survey, AMA or donation drive you want to share these will need prior approval from the moderation team. More often than not, PSA threads are common sense. If you have one you feel is genuinely important to announce, please seek mod approval prior to posting. Referral links are considered spam.
- Themed Posts: You know the kind. I see your funny street sign and raise you my funny street sign. Put it in the original thread as a comment. Copycat posts inspire more copycat posts and we don't like to run the same theme over and over.
- Low Effort: We tend to avoid severely overdone topics such as tea posts, pictures of fry ups, debates on crisps and biscuits, yellow label hauls, pictures of sausage rolls. This also covers memes, AI content, variations of"haha only in xPlace" content, starterpacks, "you can't park there mate", pictures of a pile of washing up, your mug or shops having X item available months in advance of Christmas / Easter etc. We really want fun, interesting, new, engaging content that sparks discussion.
- Screenshot of an article / Clickbait Titles: Please post the full article so that others can read it. Screenshots of articles will be removed. Please don't post things like 'you'll never believe this!' or 'lol only in Liverpool' as a title when posting an article - this is the definition of clickbait and we frown on that.
- Social Media Screenshot: We reserve the right to remove any of these that we deem as low-effort, unoriginal, a bit over-done or just not particularly interesting. You *can* post these but there is a chance we might point you to this rule as to why we have actively curated. We'd like only the best that open valuable (or ridiculous) discussions. This includes marketplace screenshots, WhatsApp prints and meta pics of reddit. And please do take a second to crop it properly if you want to try it.
- Doom-posting: Please don't comment about foreign wars, disease outbreaks, or other similar crises that aren't strictly covered by 'No Politics' or 'not UK focused'. There are many other places to discuss these events.
- Repetitive Content: We often trim content that we've seen a lot of recently to keep things fresh. Sunrise pictures, pictures of a trolley poking out of some skanky river, funny license plate or shop name, toilet graffiti, British sections in foreign supermarkets. You know. The regular sort of stuff. If you've seen one in the last couple of days, good chance we'll remove it so it doesn't become a theme.
- No ducks: Don't you dare.
