If you are promoting your own blog, website, or channel, it must constitute no more than 10% of your total contributions. Gear reviews must be well-written and formatted. Posts should include trip details and engaging questions, not just random photos.
Before you post: Self-promotion (blogs, websites, channels) limited to 10% of contributions. Gear reviews need good formatting and detail.
The rules, in their words
- Camping AND Hiking: All posts must be about camping in a place you hiked to and closely related topics like gear, destinations and food. - Ads, blogs, websites: Advertising of your own blogs/websites/channels should be kept to a minimum. It should make up no more than 10% of your overall contribution to this subreddit.
- No surveys: Surveys are not allowed, with few exceptions. All survey posts must be vetted by the moderators before posting.
- Equipment sales: Any post on equipment sales will be self post.
- Gear Reviews: Gear review will be self post, well put together, and formatted well.

- Low Effort post: No random photos of locations. Post should include details of the trip and engaging questions asked in comments. Some common details to include are mileage, gear, number of days, location, or route taken.
