Post with careYou can post, but there are rules to clear first.

Can you post your project here?

Self-promotion posts are allowed but must adhere to a strict 1:10 ratio of self-promotion to other content, require 20 comment karma on r/AsianBeauty, and are limited to twice a week. All affiliate or referral links must be disclosed. Original content creators are excluded from the 'No Business Interactions' rule.

Before you post: Must adhere to 1:10 self-promotion ratio, have 20 comment karma on r/AsianBeauty, and post self-promotion content no more than 2x per week. All affiliate/referral links must be disclosed.

The rules, in their words

  1. This is a sub for Asian Beauty: This basically means that the majority of your routine or recommendations should be [AB-focused](https://shorturl.at/akzO4). Off-topic posts outside of the Anything Goes thread will be removed. Stratia, Holy Snails and Love, Jude are US indie brands allowed on the sub because they were inspired by Asian Beauty & built with support from the community. We want to continue allowing people to discuss their releases and products.
  2. Post in the appropriate threads: Personal questions go in the [ADHT](https://www.reddit.com/r/asianbeauty/about/sticky?num=1). If you’re * asking for recommendations, product or brand reviews or * the majority of your post is describing a personal situation, or * the responses will mainly benefit you, or at best a very narrow audience Then it belongs in the ADHT. Subject to mod discretion Fluff/Hauls/Deals go into the Anything Goes thread We also have Fluff Fridays for general Fluff excluding Deals.
  3. Follow posting guidelines: All posts must be flaired with an appropriate flair. All external media, including links, images, & videos must have a comment describing the content or prompting further discussion. All referral links must be disclosed. You must have a minimum of 10 comment karma to start a post. Hauls/Shelfies/Fluff are only allowed on Fluff Fridays (12a-11:59p EST/EDT) or in the Anything Goes thread For the complete rules, please visit our [Posting Guidelines Wiki](https://tinyurl.com/5zxk4ynr).
  4. No Business Interactions: To keep our sub free of outside influence, we do not allow businesses to interact with our sub in any way. Companies/startups that break our rules may be banned from discussion from our sub. Full rules, including a list of banned brands that broke our rules, can be found in the [wiki here](https://www.reddit.com/r/AsianBeauty/wiki/businessrules) . *This excludes original content creators, who must follow self-promotion rules.*
  5. Rumor/Alarm Posts require documentation: Post questions about product authentication in the "Product Authentication" thread posted Thursdays. While we allow threads about negative topics that are meant to help others, we are not a sub primarily for generating alarm. Whether it’s about alleged fake products, or poor business interactions, posts will not be accepted without proper documentation. For alleged "bad" ingredients or products, provide backup such as links to trusted scientific/research resources.
  6. Follow self-promotion rules: * You must adhere to our 1:10 ratio or your self-promotion content will be removed. * You must already have 20 comment Karma on /r/AsianBeauty before your self-promotion is allowed. Comments should be reasonably substantial. * You may only post self-promotion content 2x a week. This limit is true even if you meet all other requirements. * All Affiliate Links, Referral Links, “discount/freebies for review” relationships must be fully disclosed
  7. No DIY, and No medical or legal advice: This includes prescription products and plastic surgery. r/AsianBeauty is not a DIY community or qualified to diagnose or treat any skin conditions. DIY can be dangerous without proper safety precautions, preservatives, and understanding of chemical reactions. Please visit r/diybeauty for DIY guides to products, recipes, and safety. Please contact your dermatologist or general practitioner to diagnose and treat serious skin conditions, including significant acne.
  8. No Skin Whitening/Bleaching: Skin whitening topics can be problematic, and dips into subjects such as colorism and racism, and is not something the sub will be supporting. We understand that there may at times be a language difference between the intention of whitening vs brightening, but we require that posts do not support these topics.
  9. Follow Inclusion and Anti-Racism rules: * No hate speech including racism, homophobia, sexism, transphobia, antisemitism, ableism, classism, and other discrimination/slurs based on identity or ability. * No privilege explaining * “Stay in your lane” when you are not from the group being discussed regarding race, stereotypes, and culture in Asia, as well as other experiences of Asian folks.
  10. Treat others with kindness and respect: Personal attacks, creepy comments, or being rude will lead to being banned. No hate speech or privilege explaining. This includes racism, homophobia, sexism, transphobia, antisemitism, ableism, classism, and other discrimination/slurs based on identity or ability. This also includes people of a privileged group denying members of a non-oppressed group their experiences through whitesplaining, mansplaining, culture explaining, and cis explaining.
